Stretch “the fabric of time” with this pioneering 1970s multi-effects unit.
Introduced in the mid-’70s, the Eventide H910 Harmonizer was the first commercially available digital audio effects unit. Its unique analog/digital circuit generated iconic pitch change, delay, and modulation effects in previously impossible combinations — with a sound that’s prized to this day.
From sci-fi sound design to pop music landmarks from David Bowie and AC/DC, the Eventide H910 is an unmatched creative tool. Today, Eventide and Universal Audio proudly announce the Eventide H910 Harmonizer plug-in, an end-to-end circuit emulation of this legendary processor.
Now You Can:
Get iconic Eventide H910 pitch change, delay, and modulation effects in real time
Thicken drums, guitars, and vocals with subtle and organic detuning
Craft hazy delays, slapback echoes, ambient textures, or drone feedback
Pitch audio +/- one octave without time compression or expansion — controllable from a MIDI keyboard
Use the H910's pitch changing ability to create specific musical intervals and musical harmonies
Harness presets from Richard Chycki, Tom Lord-Alge, Tony Platt and more
Take A Listen
Used and Abused since 1976
A powerful tool for creative producers and engineers alike, the Eventide H910 hardware excelled at straight-ahead guitar or vocal thickening, regenerative arpeggios, and bizarre sound design effects. On classics like David Bowie’s Low, and Iggy Pop’s The Idiot, producer Tony Visconti used the H910 to pitch down drum sounds, famously saying it, “f*cked with the fabric of time.” World’s away, AC/DC engineer Tony Platt put the H910 to slyly fatten up Back in Black’s iconic snare sound, while Eddie Van Halen used two H910’s for max spread on his 80’s guitar tones.
The Glitch is Back
The H910 introduced the word “glitch” into the audio engineer’s vocabulary. The H910’s pitch change relied on extensive analog processing. While simple, this circuit allows you to explore unique, unpredictable effects, never before emulated in a plug-in.
An End-to-End H910 Circuit Emulation
In developing this landmark processor for the UAD and Apollo platforms, Eventide modeled the H910’s entire analog/digital circuit, including its custom-built A/D converter. This allows the UAD H910 Harmonizer plug-in to retain the original hardware’s characteristic tone, as well as its dynamic responsiveness to input signals.
Keyboard and MIDI Mapping
The keyboard was an integral part of the H910’s original concept, and was later offered as an option. With the H910 plug-in, you can easily use MIDI to control pitch and harmonization in real time. But beware, one test drive of the H910 plug-in, and you’ll discover sounds that you can’t live without.
Bill Putnam, Jr. on the H910
Watch UA's Bill Putnam, Jr. talk about the groundbreaking Eventide H910 Harmonizer.
“The Eventide H910 Harmonizer plug-in is the perfect blend of vintage technology in a feature-rich, modern format. Eminently useful and every bit as unique as the original hardware.”
– Richard Chycki(Rush, Aerosmith, Dream Theater)
“In 1975, the Eventide H910 Harmonizer firmly planted its foot in the future. And now in 2015, UA continues to move the past into the future with the Eventide H910 plug-in.”
– Ross Hogarth(Van Halen, Ziggy Marley, Motley Crue)
“The Eventide H910 is a go-to effect for me. With the UAD version, I have to be careful to not overdo it now that I have something that's so good, quick, and reliable”
– Joey Waronker(Atoms for Peace, Beck, Other Lives)
“The Eventide H910 Harmonizer is perfect for a double track effect on the lead vocal by slightly shifting the pitch and adding a short delay. ”
– Joe Chiccarelli(Jason Mraz, Beck, The Strokes, Morrissey)
“The Eventide H910 Harmonizer plug-in is so much fun – I can get lost in it for hours.”
– Jacknife Lee(R.E.M, The Cars, Snow Patrol)

Very Good but no midi for the keyboard and no H910 duo for this price?
I must say I really like this effect, but i'm very disappointed that the duo version is not included. You can get the native version for 99$ at the moment and it does include the dual version. Way better deal. I would have give 4 stars but because of this I will only give 3 stars.
I was hopping to replace my sdmx that is being repaired at the moment and the lack of dual mode is really a downer on this.
Otherwise it sounds magnificent, very gritty, just perfect to widen any sound or create weird percussion mayhem.
I don't understand that you can't control the keyboard via midi though.

so much better than the hardware
i can't imaging ever having the hardware again. I used to have this unit and as great as it was, i could always do without the noise (non-usefull kind) as well as the glitching. I immediately got the sound i was used to getting with the hardware i had for many years, so glad to have it back!

Bowie-a go-go!!
I chose buying the H910 as my tribute to Bowie (selfless, I know!!!) & have not been disappointed!
I always used the hardware whenever it was in a studio I was working in & it never failed to surprise me with it's quirky genius! You just don't see them so much these days & they're often not working properly now, sadly.
Inevitably UAD have modelled it so perfectly I can hear no difference at all to the original & having the keyboard gives me a whole new dimension that I've never had before.
Plus I've got as many of them as I want now!
David would have been proud!

So creative... so cool
Very musical and creative. Quite limited sound options at the same time. Don't quite like it for delays but love it for the extreme stuff and odd pitch variations. I find that I only get 2 or 3 sounds out of it that seem useful to me but these are killer!

Crazy
So damn good! I just turned a snare into some old 80's Arcade Game Over type effect, you can imagine all the craziness that happened along the way to getting that sound. Oh and yeah it does them 'classic' H910 effects for thickening stuff up and creating space. This is going to be fun to play with..

Great Emulation! Pure Glam.
Instant glam rock in a tin. Where are my 7' Platforms? The ones with the fish tanks in the heels. Yeah.

Eventide H910
I really like it but it would kick ass if it was the H3000!

Not the Eventide deal
It does sound good, it is an unusual treatment for every sound source thrown at it. BUT... no control of the keyboard? Do I have to click my mouse in realtime to make use of it? Then better hide it away completely, now it's just 'there' and doesn't serve any useful purpose. And the other thing - where is the duo-version? I hope UA adresses this as soon as possible, otherwise you're far better off to buy this directly from Eventide. Their plugin includes all that's lacking here for a more reasonable price.

Sounds great - badly implemented
Amazing sounding & faithful to the original box. Pre sets are clunky to get to in logic audio. Spoke to support and appently its a known bug... We'll see...

Does the job
Worked with the hardware Eventide hardware Harmonizer for ages. Looks like I have it in the box now.

Sir Nose Devoidoffunk
It's the return of Sir Nose Deviodoffunk! When I first started that was the first sound I wanted to find out how it was made. The arch nemisis of good music who had come to steal the groove and pimp the pleasure principle. I'm already testing and playing with the demo!

Fantastic plug-in. Considering it's the only emulation of this unit, no complaints.

Takes me back
Brilliant plugin. We used the hardware Eventide H 910 in the 80’s & 90’s along with our Lexicon & Delta Lab.This Eventide plugin does what we want.Cheers

Eventide® H910 Harmonizer - Dual Widerner Combo
This is the only version that's sounds like the real deal to me. I've been using this since 1980 and here's my Dual Widener Combo cofig: Left -1 / Right +1 and split em' 4 milliseconds apart anywhere from 10 to 40 depending on how deep you want it. Say Left 14 and Right 17. So that's 4 instances 2 -L / 2-R ... Double Wide! Nothing gets this sound without noticeable unwanted phasing. - Gilroy

Cool effect!
Still exploring different uses for this guy but it's definitely been a fun new tool to add to the box.
